S I N O P S I S

Stephanie (Amber Heard) dan Ellie (Odette Yustman) hanya ingin berlibur di tempat yang sunyi. Sayangnya ini malah jadi awal dari malapetaka yang bakal mereka alami. Saat salah satu dari mereka tiba-tiba menghilang dan hanya meninggalkan bekas-bekas yang mencurigakan, hanya ada satu kesimpulan: ia telah diculik dan bisa jadi jiwanya tak akan tertolong lagi.

Stephanie dan Ellie semula mengira kalau berlibur di sebuah tempat terpencil di Argentina bakal melepaskan mereka dari belenggu rutinitas sehari-hari. Awalnya liburan ini memang menyenangkan. Mereka berdua bisa bersenang-senang tanpa ada yang mengganggu. Masalah baru muncul ketika mereka berdua bertengkar dan Stephanie memutuskan untuk berjalan-jalan sendiri untuk melepas kejengkelannya.

Saat Stephanie kembali, Ellie sudah tak ada lagi. Stephanie hanya menemukan bekas-bekas perlawanan dan segera saja ia menyimpulkan kalau Ellie telah diculik. Melaporkan kejadian ini pada polisi setempat ternyata bukanlah ide yang tepat karena para petugas hukum sendiri sudah kerepotan dengan kasus penculikan yang sering terjadi di area itu.

Tak punya solusi lain, Stephanie lantas berpaling pada Michael (Karl Urban), warga negara Amerika yang tinggal di hotel yang ia tempati. Semula Stephanie yakin bisa mempercayai Michael namun seiring waktu Stephanie mulai curiga kalau Michael tak benar-benar bermaksud membantu Stephanie menemukan Ellie.

Plot

Two young American girls, Stephanie and Ellie, are on a leisure cycling trip through Argentina. The bike trip takes a turn for the worse when Ellie disappears. Stephanie desperately searches for her friend, and she is joined by Michael, a young man claiming to be a detective, who is currently working on an unsolved murder that was committed three years ago. Has the killer struck again?^[3]

 Production

It is a remake of the 1970 British film of the same name and was shot in March 2009 in Argentina.^[4] The screenplay was written by Jennifer Derwingson and Marcos Efron.^[5]

Release

The film was released on February 18, 2010 as part of the European film market in Germany and is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 11, 2011 over Optimum Releasing in the United Kingdom.^[6] On May 14, 2010 Anchor Bay acquired the rights for US distribution of the film.The film will be released for limited theatrical run on December 17,2010 and it will be released on DVD & Blu-Ray on December 28, 2010.^[7]
